General description: The Cooper Trophy is a magnificent bronze figure with a pair of R.A.F. Wings clutched in the right hand, poised on a hemispherical globe. The bronze unit is mounted on a grey green marble plinth. The trophy was presented by Wg. Cdr. Geoffrey Cooper, in commemoration of the sacrifice and devotion of the Royal Auxiliary Air Force during the Battle of Britain. It is awarded annually to the Squadron making the greatest progress in overall efficiency during the year, compared to the standard attained by the that Squadron the previous year. The competition is open to 20 Squadrons.
